AIAS Conference 2017

The 2017 AIAS annual meeting was hosted by the University of Melbourne’s Department of Anatomy and Neuroscience, in Parkville, Melbourne. The three day conference, offered attendees the opportunity to tour the facilities, hear about the mysterious Flute Boy, learn techniques for skeleton repair and preservation and open discussions provided for some lively debate. The 2017 AGM saw a change in committee members with long time president Marcus Robinson stepping down after manys years of service to teh association and the wider anatomical sciences community.Marcus will continue to be involved with the association as part of the general committee. Presentations included such topics on;

Tours of the medical building included the anatomical laboratories, mortuary and Harry Brookes Allen Museum.

Social events included a welcome function at Naughtons Hotel on Royal Parade Parkville and the conference dinner was held in the Bong Su Room at Melbourne Zoo.
