Workshop Announcement
The AIAS Monday workshop registration will open at 12:00pm AEDT Monday 27/11/2023 (NSW, VIC, TAS time). There are 25 places available and will be allocated on a first in first serve basis. Please note, due to limited availability, we suggest a limit of 3 participants per institution. If you would like to have more than 3 participants from your institution attend, please contact our secretary Cassie at cassie.doyle@unimelb.edu.au. The Monday workshop will be an Introduction to pot making utilizing a laser cutter. Participants will see the laser cutter at work and gain an understanding of the time savings and WHS improvements using this equipment. They will also get an opportunity to make a pot to take home with them. To register on Monday, please head to the AIAS website shop page. Select the ‘conference workshop’ link and follow the instructions. The workshop is included in the conference cost and will not require a further payment.
Conference Information
This year we are pleased to announce the conference will be hosted by the College of Health and Medicine, University of Tasmania, on Tuesday December 5 and Wednesday December 6, with a workshop to be held on the afternoon of Monday December 4.
Our 2023 conference will be both face to face and accessible virtually.
Welcome drinks will be held at The Deck at the Crowne Plaza in Liverpool St on Monday 4th, which is quite close to our Medical Sciences Precinct where we are hoping to hold the workshop on Monday. Drinks will be from 3-6pm with the option to stay on afterwards for dinner.
AIAS 2023 Conference Timetable
Please note session times throughout the day are subject to change.
Monday:
– Workshop at the UTAS School of Medicine (17 Liverpool St, Hobart) 13:00 – 15:00
– Welcome drinks at the Crowne Plaza Hotel 16:00 – 18:00 with option to stay on after for dinner at own cost.
Tuesday:
– Conference Registration opens at 8:00 (The Institute for Marine and Antarctic Science, 20 Castray Esplanade, Battery Point)
– Conference Day one 9:00 – 16:00 (morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea provided)
– Conference Dinner 18:00
Wednesday:
– Conference Day two 9:00 – 16:00 (morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea provided).
The last official conference presentation will conclude at 2:45pm on Wednesday afternoon with afternoon tea and a farewell session to follow for people to say their goodbyes.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Annual General Meeting of the Australasian Institute of Anatomical Sciences Inc (AIAS) will be held on Wednesday, 6th December 2023, commencing at 3:00pm AEST.
If anyone has any items they wish added to the agenda, please forward to cassie.doyle@unimelb.edu.au before close of business Monday 4th November.
Positions on the committee including the Vice President and Treasurer will become vacant. We ask anyone wishing to nominate for a position to provide nominations to the secretary prior to the AGM. If there is more than one nomination for a position, a vote will be put to members at the AGM. If only one nomination is received for a position, then the nominee will automatically be elected to that position. If you are nominating someone else, please ensure that you have made him or her aware of the nomination, and they are willing to accept the nomination. If anyone requires more information about the positions, please contact the secretary.
