Description
The workshop will include seeing each part of the anatomy/pathology museum specimen journey from finished dissection to sealed museum pot ready for display. You will see how the pots are made, repaired and gets some tips about how you might do things differently with your collection.
1. Briefing – set up and safety. [5 minutes]
2. Take measurements of specimen. [10 minutes]
3. Create cutting documents with Adobe Illustrator. [15 minutes]
4. Prepare Perspex pieces with laser cutter. [15 minutes]
5. Construct pot with and without Perspex bender. [30 minutes]
6. Prepare top, base and backing sheet. [15 minutes]
May demonstrate specimen mounting.
